combline filters, due to using loading capacitors on the resonator lines, the total line dimensions are smaller compared to other filters as, Interdigital, Parallel Coupled, Hair Pin, etc. Regarding the question, where can be used, the answer is: mainly in UHF up to few GHz circuits.

HFSS can do the job of a 3D filter. But for 5 resonators, tuning is required. What kind of resonator configuration do you have? Is it combline? Waveguide? or something else?

don't have ads, but the key to make such a filter is the ability to "tune" the resonators. You want to use variable capacitors to tweak it in. Will solve a lot of parasitic reactance variations for you. Otherwise you will need incredibly tight tolerance components. I had good luck with a combline design at this frequency, using variable chip

Combine filters are microstrip-based, so same problems with limited Q and tolerance . Am I missing something here? The combline filters being mentioned here are the cavity type, so it has low insertion loss unlike microstrip.

your bandpass filter is a waveguide combline filter, just like the microstrip combline filter. Due to the loading effect of the gap capcitance, the height of the metalice post is smaller than quarter-wavelength (TEM). You can search IEEE explore, there are many papers about this kind of filter.
