hi - might someone be able to clearly explain, preferably from the cst user manual, the calculation method for both radiation efficiency and total efficiency? thanks in advance.

Sorry.I want to load dispersive glass that I have defined in matlab in txt format in cst. but it I come across the error'load failed.the entries are invalid'.also I thimk my txt file is right that has 2000 line(number of frequency) and each line has four entries:frequency eps' eps'' weight. can anyone help me?

Hi cenzic, I don't use cst, but as for your second question, a general rule of thumb is that you want the ports at least 1/4 wavelength away from the surface.

Hi Prakash, I've stopped using HFSS and going for cst now. The transient solver in cst is much quicker since it operates in the time domain + the environment is much more user friendly. I'm still struggling to get used to it, I suggest you do the same and give it a try.

Calculate it's input impedance. cst calculates the input return loss (S11) . This contains the input impedance information. I am not a cst user, but other EM simulators aloow you to plot the real / imag part of the input impedance (Zin) also. This data/plot should be available in cst as well.

You may like to use the time domain LF solver - since u have a pulsed signal. You have to define your geometry & a current source. Use your signal waveform as the current source. There are examples in the ems tutorials that may show you how to do this. Also go to the cst website and look for further examples under events, user group meetings. O

Probably you can use just the 'Probe'-elements placed in particular order on the surface of the Sphere? That should be possible in cst. Alternatively you can use macro 'Extract Fields in UDF points', where UDF is 'user Defined Points'. Press to coordinate buttons in the top bar. HFSS is really stupid when it comes to coordinate systems, you sort of have move the axis manually or type in the coordinates that makes 45 degrease turn. If you have the possibility then use cst MWS it is better and more user friendly EM solver.

Rather than bother with any of these user-unfriendly codes, you're probably better off to wait a few more months and try out the next release of cst Particle Studio. If I understand correctly, it will include a PIC solver.
it can't be simulated in ADS , coz the monetum is 2.5 D simulator not 3D . but u can simulate the SMA connector in cst or HFSS , and then use the S paramters data from these , and feed them into ADS khouly
