cheap ASK modules won't give you good result unless you code them properly. Manchester coding or other suitable coding schemes. I strongly recommend you to use HT12E/HT12D encoder decoder pair ICs for acceptable result. Otherwise, you better use nRF24L01+ or similar standard modules as Easyrider83 suggested.
Why did you mention a microphone and a speaker? A microphone will not press a pushbutton switch on the encoder and the decoder does not have a power audio amplifier. You can connect the encoder's output y to the decoder's input a, simply using a wire. Here both have same number of bits. So declare a wire of size and connect. You cannot port map y with b. Because both are output.
