With the TFSF formulation available for fdtd why are people still contemplating NTFF solutions of analytical far Field formulations in general. To start with any 3d fdtd code should do. The far field computation is a separate issue. The main question is whether you are going to continuously update the far fields during the fdtd simulation or use a post-processing step In any case I would go one step at a time and if problems occur post them as concisely (...)

Hi, I have never worked with Empire but as far as I know and I see on their web page it is just a brute force fdtd code without any advanced features like conformal geometry approximation (PBA,TST in CST) or sub mesh. Form this point of view I would prefer other tools. F.

Well, conceptly it can be done by near field and far field transformation. You can see the materials form any classic fdtd books. As for E plane and H plane, you only need to define an angle of radiation pattern you want to caculate such as fai=0 and fai=90

I believe you will need a technique originally developed for antenna measurements: near-field to far-field transformation. I did google search for "near-field to far-field" and fdtd, and got about 10 pages worth of (stuff).
Boy: You can firstly simulate it in CST or HFSS or fdtd! The result may be useful for you !
