I use the fast sweep. In previous versions of hfss, a discrete sweep was required. This might still be the case in newer versions (I'm not sure) -- if you can't get your plot working try it out.

I suggest you can just start with a random value and optimize the hfss or CST, only two parameters need to be optimized, according to my experience, it can be optimized very fast.

The first solution is to update to hfss13!?!?! hfss10 is insanely less efficient... As for your error (seems to be self explanatory?!): Your waveport is exciting a mode(s) that is evanescent in the frequency range, ie cutoff. fast sweeps do not support evanescent modes.

Dear all, I notice several things in hfss. Please confirm when you ever noticed the same: 1. The convergence profile/curve is not the same when change the sweep method e.g. fast sweep or interpolation. Although, all other parameters remain the same. 2. Hi! When adding a frequency sweep, in sweep window there is an option called save fields. What exactly it does? If it saves fields at different frequencies how can I access them? hfss can easily cope with this structure. It is expensive and takes a while to learn to operate. Polar's Si9000 impedance calculator may also be useful at a much lower price , and it is less flexible. You might get lucky and find something on the web that just suits your problem for free. Think of it this way: Good. fast. Cheap.
