Hello, I am trying to write script that creates an output variable that can be use as a goal function in an optimization routine for pattern synthesis. I have a hard time putting all this together (either hfss or Designer). Some questions: 1. can the desired pattern be an array defined by in imported series of points?

u can use hfss GA for your aim and if u want u can load hfss with matlab in each part of your GA matlab can call the hfss for optimization and i cant understand what do u mean by telling the relation of s parameter and GA ????

Hi, I did not understand your question. But yes you can optimize a variable in 'hfss' using 'Parametric setup option'. If you do not know much about it. Search about it on this forum or post your question with a bit more elaboration here and i will try to help you. /SC

It is impossible to import any model into hfss from other software for the change of dimensions. You have to build up the model in hfss by parameterization for optimization.
