Do have interface the any rtc ever. I was interface with new rtc but i have holtech rtc ht1380 but i was not able to locate the datasheet for this chip so i wasn`t go fo prog. if you have it send it to me i try my best to help you.

I use a 3V lithium battery and simple 2 diode (1n4148) arrangement to battery back the ht1380. Works fine. The RTC needs about 2V to keep operating. The small current from battery causes a very small drop of <0.5v on VCC. No particular need for a schottky diode.

Two possible explanations for the huge (nearly 2000 ppm) RTC clock deviation: - wrong crystal circuit with ht1380 - the read routine rtcGetDateTime() is erroneously activating the stop clock flag during read. We should see the respective sources. You can check the latter point by slowing down the RTC accesses (e.g. 2 or 5 sec delay) for test.
