Another method if you don't like skill is to save your GDS as a text. Use PERL or any language to find the pad layer opening, then, with some text processing your can get the pad location. If your GDS-text only include the pad opening layer, it is even easier. OkGuy

What you are placing is actually "via" not "pad". Eagle doesn't support long shape for via. For changing pad shape you need do it in library editor.
You can do it in few ways. We have created as a pin the same shape as paddle for this part and used paste mask recommendation. Works great and assembly guys have no problem working with this devices. Just check help in Allegro it is explained in detail. M

You cannot make a rectangular pad hole in Pr0tel99SE. Rectangular holes have to be routed or punched by the fab. You should call your board fab and discuss with them what they expect for fab instructions. Did you try this in pad Editor of Allegro? Because I just tried it and can make 25uM circular pad no problem. M
You'll need to assign the thermal relief style on the pads themselves ; you can't assign the plane to a net as you don't have a netlist.

You need to be more specific. Do you mean change the size or shape of@a pad in the library editor? Keith
I would reccomend doing the layer as a positive layer, and use templates and copper pours to create the desired result. That way the copper when poured will obey your copper to track/pad clearances.
lol@marce. The other rumour is that it will improved :) If you want to add single holes to your design then you need to add them as a component, you cannot simply "add a pad". See here for some info on that.

Swen is talking about reassingment's. If you reassign a top layer I.E. with solder resist and solder paste in your assignments then you need to also reassign the bottom ones too. Post the part number you are using.There is no specific trace width as is based on the requirement. Follow your stackup. For 6A current you need to use solid shape instead of trace.IRF540 seems to be a SMD part not through hole.

Protel doesn't do central cutouts yet. The only way to get the representation you want is by using a pad for the hole. A polygon to the edge is done by using a keepout boundary, then copper flooding. The flood will stop at the keepout (you can make the keepout boundary as narrow as you need to make the proper shape and limit).
