hello friends i want to simulate 2 layer pcb and calculate s parameters. this 2 layer pcb have complex structure . in cst micro wave studio with frequency domain solver its have too long time for simulating and not appropriate . can any one help me to reduce thats needed time for simulation ?:cry:
Actually as i said I'm not familiar with pcb design. I'm concern about pcb elements like Via's, PAD's and parts that are related to lumped elements and their effects on overall response of design.
Hello everyone I design rf and high speed multilayer pcbs up to 12 layer....I want to simulate pcb with awr microwave office(axiem maybe) and cst pcb studio. I need high performance computer called workstation but I dont know how to define right processor(intel xeon or ???) right graphical card(quadro or (...)
Hello guys, I am beginner, about simulate on cst MWS and EM topics. Well, let me explain. I have four models of microstrip antennas GSM dual band. I simulated each one with the same conditions, pcb size and thickness for copper and FR4 respectively, discret port (S-parameters) , Open space, and under ideal conditions. After that, I (...)
I have designed a pcb for ceramic chip antenna test ( its a copper pour ground plane with an SMA port connection and solder pins for placing chip antenna on it). I wanted to simulate its effect on the radiation pattern of antenna in cst Microwave Studio. I have made a model of chip antenna in cst MWS but.... Is there a way (...)
Hello all, first post, hope it's an easy one to fix! I am trying to model a via thru a 4 layer pcb in Momentum. I have port1, a trace on top layer, a via to bottom, then a trace to port 2. Simple. When I have a 3 layer construction (slot type ground, with a circular hole to clear the via) all is fine and dandy, but I'm not sure where to go
Hi To start working with MS pcb module you can check and bye
Hello dear engineers, I am doing my thesis on Computational Electromagnetics and I wiould like to make a simulation of a fluorescent lamp ballast pcb with cst Studio Suite. I am interested in radiated and conducted emissions, because later the pcb will be tested in an EMC lab to confirm the simulation results. So far I (...)
I am not sure whether Genesys can export pcb into other form, like ASCII, ODB++, etc? cst MS do support variety of importing formats.
Hello all, I have been working with cst MWS for about a week now and I am simulating pcb structures, specifically microstrips, both single-ended and differential. I have a lot of experience with 3D modeling and EM solvers. Basically, I was hoping we could share our experiences on what are the ideal settings for the (...)
now i'm designing a dipole antenna with apply the discrete port in between the gap.But the problem is I don't know how to implement it to the hardware part, so is it anybody know when i fabricated it on the pcb, what kind of connector i should use to do the measurement on return loss and radiation pattern. Very need you all help, thanks you.
Hi, I am new to cst as well as pcb milling. I tried exporting a antenna simulation from cst as a gerber file. ISOPRO does not register the aperture list for some reason. All it shows is D999 with 0 width. I also tried to view the gerber file using McCAD. Again McCAD shows an empty aperture table. Any ideas why this is (...)
Hello to everyone ! I think this was the best suited forum for my post...if not, please let me know. I am trying to simulate the behaviour of a copper trace working as a heatsink, where an array of powerLEDs is soldered. In order to make simulations, i am using cst EM 2009 because of several reasons: ? it can import pcb info from my EDA
Dear all, I have a BGA package with solder bumps on top and solder balls on bottom, which belong to power, ground, and signal nets. However, I would like to treat all of them as signals since I want to connect the S-parameter block in the circuit schematic with other models e.g. RDL, pcb. I did my simulation in (...)
Dear Sirs, i am hardware designer and i'm having a problem with radiated emission from multilayer pcb. Can i use cst or Mentor tools for simulate and resolve this kind of EMC problem? In the past i used these software for microwave circuits design, but never for pcb with microcontroller on board. Regards
Hi, I am a newbie to cst and I am not sure what I am doing wrong here. I am trying to simulate a printed inverted-F antenna on a FR-4 pcb. The bottom side of the pcb is a solid ground plane except for where the antenna is. The antenna is fed using a coax with a waveguide port. I have also drawn some ground patches (...)
Thanks Byteptr. But I have to simulate effects of the plane-wave radiation on a pcb with active lumped elements. What can I do? You can simulate the whole pcb using cst and export the results as a SNP file. You can then use this SNP file to simulate the active circuit with the effect of pcb.
can anybody tell me if there are any antenna design tools availbale for pcb or simple antennas for 868 915 Mhz bands. or does any body have a design for good omin directional antenna's for these bands thanks
