I would imagine that using ?cu and fet or triac is out of consideration? This would be perfect job for something like pic 10f series... I don't know where to buy them, but I have comment on C compiler. pic10 series have very limited memory/program space, so is it "sane" to program it with C? Regardless to the previous sentence, CCS has support for some of them.
