Review the generated gerber output to answer the question yourself. In a real world, solder mask does not overlay copper. Looks like erroneous display. I thought up to now that any professional layout tool would allow the definition of arbitrary shaped pads (and considered protel 99 a professional tool).
hy friends, How to generate CNC Drill File In protel 99SE software... I Generated all Gerber file with NC drill File.....But Dn't knw how to generate CNC Drill File..... Help me PLZ.....
hello friends can anybody help me in placing text on copper altium or protel. i wanted a copper cut text on filled zone. what i am talking of copper cut text is a reversed text on copper area
I have designed a PCB for ceramic chip antenna test ( its a copper pour ground plane with an SMA port connection and solder pins for placing chip antenna on it). I wanted to simulate its effect on the radiation pattern of antenna in CST Microwave Studio. I have made a model of chip antenna in CST MWS but.... Is there a way that I can export this P
Hi I noticed from my Gerbers that the solder paste (green), is not aligned with the copper footprint (pink) for my LLP package. I am using the standard package definition from Altium protel for this package. I have never see
With other tools, there is typically also an option to disable thermal isolation for individual pads and for the copper pour as a whole. I've seen this option in protel, but I couldn't find it in OrCAD 10.5
They are not called stencils, they are called photoplots. The photoplot is used to expose light sensitive chemicals applied to the copper so the board can be etched. Photoplots are produced from files called "Gerber" files. protel can automatically produce Gerber files. The specific procedure depends on what version of the software you are us
Hi, everyone. I have some questions about drawing the mushroom-like EBG structure on a 4-layer PCB by using protel DXP. My questions are: 1. How can I define the buried via connecting ground plane and intermediate copper layer with square conducting patches on it? Actually it seems that I cannot directly place the via/hole on the PCB in Prote

Hi, I recently got a gerber file from our client. I am converting back to PCB form in protel. The Gerber file is in negative form for the power planes. I want to convert the Gerber to positive form so that I can do editing on that. Can anybody help me how to convert the Gerber to negative. Thand and Regards, Vamanan Kutty
the pcb design has been coppered, now i want to modify some place. but the copper pour become a hindrance for me to move some routing line. I have a idea :first delete all the copper pour ,then modify the lines, Could you give me a suggestion? Thanks
Hi, all. After completing my 2 layer pcb layout in protel 99 SP6, I flood the top and bottom layer with ground planes. I need to expose certain ground area underneath some power devices for heatsinking purposes, i.e. bare copper without mask! Question: How does one open a solder mask for the top/bottom ground plane in protel 99? (...)
protel doesn't do central cutouts yet. The only way to get the representation you want is by using a pad for the hole. A polygon to the edge is done by using a keepout boundary, then copper flooding. The flood will stop at the keepout (you can make the keepout boundary as narrow as you need to make the proper shape and limit).
Does anyone know a way to do this? I would like to metalise the unused areas and tie them to ground. I've looked through a lot of the options and none of them seemed to help! Thanks in advance
Does anyone know how to make protel 99 SE put holes in the middle of the copper on pads? These would be very useful for drilling the PCBs by hand...
Hi to all, I need help !!! how I can delete the copper plane (Top or Bottom) on Pr@tel99SE. I have seen that I can't delete planes all together.I have tried with Select --> Connected copper but I can' t deleted the selected copper. Tanks in advantage MKBS :(
how to do GND copper pouring in protel dxp
If you know someone with CAM350 you could try this. Export your protel files as PCAD 2000 ASCII Import to CAM350 as ACCEL Export from CAM350 as PPCB file. For sure you will most probable get screwed copper pour or messed up split planes as this is area most conversions failed in. But if you at least get the parts, netlist and stuff O
protell is so ok ,i think so
