I would like to design a 8x upsampling filter for 32Khz , 44K , and 48K sample rate . How to optimize the coeffiecient for three of the sample rate . Using the matlab , i only can assume the sample rate of the input signal is one the them like 44.1K .
Hi, I want to use interpolation (upsampling) in my project. The process as explained in DSP books is first adding L-1 zeros between between each sample and then low pass filtering with cut off frequency of Pi/L .How should such filters be designed? Is this a simple sinusoid? (i.e. sin(t)?) or is it a sinusoidal carrier with a modulated baseband signal (like a simple AM/FM modualtion)? I did not understand your methods for upsampling and downsampling. Why you dont use direct matlab operators for this: downsample(x,n) and upsample(x,n)? it's very simple to know. You can use function of matlab. for example: downsample help .

You may use "rised cosine" filter from matlab, there are only two functions that you need to do the job (as I remmember, main is "rcosine", look at Help :)). Figured this out on my own. I forgot that upsampling should always proceed filtering and not the other way around, therefore the taps are for the upsampled signal, not the original signal.
