u mean both pmos and nmos on ? When pmos is in resistive region only leakage current flows...but when it is in saturated region the current expression can be calculated... Refer weste and harris for the equation

For basics you can refer cmos neil weste but if you want to make good concept and deep study then refer Digital integrated Circuit by John M Rabbey. That is very good book. but if you dont know basic concept of cmos , better you first go through neil weste then after read rabbey.

hello, according to me if u are a beginner u should first go through rabaey ---?>digital integrated circuits will give u deisgn aspects without bogging u down with many details.then i feel u should go thruogh weste and eshraghian since it makes a bit more indepth treatment about mos device level issues also and some system level deisgn issues.
