WOW!!! You must be the first person I've heard trying to wroute in years!! Just use NanoRoute.
One change Trial route for congestion analysis wroute ( has got Metal layer restiction)max 5 layers ?? Nano route Yes >for detailed routing
place:a)block place -> manual palce is preferred b) STD cells place route:special net route -->manual wroute :auto route
I want to know how to resolve this problem. The pre-steps have no errors,(import LEF, import Verilog, initial floorplan, place IO... place cell) and I have decreased the boot size for SE, changed "m" from 800 to 24. (sedsm -m=*) The following is the report: Reading back the wroute DB: wroute.wdb Reading delta file... No delta
Hi I am trying to route my design. When I click ROUTE>wroute in my SE window... it gives me error that says that databse memory exceeds limits.. and to use bigger boot size.... Anyone knows solution??

Cadence's simulator is NCsim (last i remember).. I prefer modelsim though just cause its easier to use.. The difference between SE and SOCE is first off they both do basically the same thing.. Place and route. Main difference is SOCE is cleaner to use and sharper looking. Both use wroute internally unless you have a license for nanoroute with
SOCE-GPS = FE-GPS + (Celtic-SI analysis) + (Routing: NanoRoute/wroute) + (GDSII output)
Im going nuts.. for some reason i cannot seem to get the IO power pads to connect to the power ring when routing.. however, when i perform a verify connection it tells me that VDD and VSS are not connected and selecting the IO pin shows the fly lines to the cells VDD and VSS pins.. If the tool knows they should be connected and arn't, then why
I don't know if i fully understand what your saying.. but you should be able to make the power rings (Floorplan>Power Planning>Add Rings) and stripes as well as route (sroute and wroute) without IO pads instantiated.. just don't include a save.io hope that helps jelydonut
usually, both nanoroute and wroute can't complete the whole routing job. It require ICC to complete the final route
For only 2 metal routing you must set-up your router. For example in SOC you can use wroute or nanoroute - both can be set to run only on 2 metals.
SOC is a newer and bigger system which includes both floorplanner, placer and router. It can use "wroute" or new tool "Nanoroute", a graphic-based detailed signal router, as its detailed signal router. While SE is a place & route tool for cell-based design that use only "wroute", a grid-based router, as its detailed signal router.
