HI, I have an artificial dielectric material structure, whose extracted relative permeability is less than 1. Real(mu) = 0.7 and imag(mu)=0.2. I do not know how to comprehend this. What does it say about the material then? P.S: the extracted permittivity is real = 2.7 and imag=-1. Thanks in advance! RZ
Hi, everyone! I am simulating an on-chip 77GHz artificial magnetic conductor(AMC) structure. When I simulated the AMC unit cell in HFSS, I got the rigth in-phase frequency but the return loss S11 is around -10dB which means only few waves are reflected by AMC. Do you have any idea to increase the S11 to near 0dB? 138508 Th
There is no glory in publishing a breakthrough in post-layout simulation time improvement - there is no much science to it (there may be a lot of insight and understanding and smart algorithms to it). If someone comes up with something like that - it will be delivered to the world as a new software tool or a new functionality in existing tool, rath
Hi guys, I would like to know if somebody has tried to model a current mirror just by using the analogLib components, that is, the basic library components. Is this possible to be done? Regards If you have a suitable circuit diagram (transistors, resistors) - why shouldn`t it be possible to model it? Or do intend to
hi, In the past I have used a 'hum dinger' pot across the heaters, with the pot slider to chassis, trim to null any hum. E Look here: extract: Humdinger The ways in which hum are induced into the audio circuit are rarely perfectly symmetrical. Often you will find that minimum hum occurs with an 'o
Agreed. If all the energy enters the room and none leaves it, all the power contributes to the heating. It does beg the question of why would anyone want to artificially illuminate a solar panel though, it would seem to negate their purpose. Brian.
2 drivers start to switch with the two others Means what, exactly? Where do you see it in the waveforms? Some important waveforms are missing in your simulation results, e.g. Vds or Vbus. I expect that you primarily see oscillations of MOSFET output capacitance with your artificial 15 nH Vbus ESL. Possible countermeasures: -
There are different types of analog delay devices mentioned in previous posts that should not be confused: a) Simple delay lines made with coaxial cable, like the picture in post #5 used in an oscilloscope for delaying the signal with respect to trigger. b) Delays made with coils wound over, and/or covered with, coaxial conductive cylinders.
In my university I have a teacher who teaches me subjects like artificial Vision and Informatics Systems who is involved in a research project on finding biomarkers for the Alzheimer Disease. Every year the Ministry of Education give scholarships for collaboration projects for students if they satisfy some requirements. I think I will satisfy th
The concepts of "ground" and "signal" lines are purely artificial. A TEM mode is supported by two or more conductors -- choosing to establish a reference conductor ("ground") is completely arbitrary, and only done out of convenience. In complex systems, we generally establish a global reference (think the conductor backing "ground" plane of a PCB w
There's a fundamental relation between antenna size and maximum bandwidth of electrical small antennas. If you are already scratching this limit, there's no chance to increase the bandwidth without adding artificial losses.
hi, the results looks bad and doesnt make sense. i agree with your friend. please use discrete port between the input pin and the ground. if there is no ground underneath the input pin, you may have to create an artificial ground underneath input pin. this is just to make discrete port connected to the ground. you have to do the same for waveguide
Hello everyone, Schematic Description I am designing RF phase shifter in ADS at 11-12GHz for a beamformer (rf phase shifting topology). The schematic can be seen in the attached image file. As you can see, it's a combination of a 3-bit distributed phase shifter (The Cgs capacitances of the bottom nmos transistors in each branch combin
Hello everyone, I am a student of M.Tech VLSI Design final year. I am doing project on Viterbi decoder using artificial Neural Networks. Please, if anyone are doing same project share your ideas. If any open source code (MATLAB or any other programming code) you are having means share me.
Locating several circuits on a FPGA chip often invites unexpected effects like the described one. Sensitive oscillators should always be moved as far as possible from "usual" logic circuits. Oscillators are affected by minor voltage variations while the logic circuits utilize comparator-like circuits (gates) which is only sensitive within the volta
Dear All, I'm planning to build some intelligence in my car lights and I need your advice on recognizing ambient light intensity. I've already build DLR control in my car using PIC12F683 which is Mercedes style dimming for the DRL led's when turn signal is activated. Now I'm planning to make another version which would automatically switch from
Use wye-delta transformer as isolation transformer, delta connected to inverter, wye as output with star point (neutral). Or connect wye parallel to inverter and use the star point as neutral. Delta winding must be present and acts as a stabilizing winding. In the latter circuit, the transformer carries only asymmetrical components, thus lower
High speed designs (DDR, gigabit interfaces) often require delay equalization which is done by routing length constraints. Generating artificial delays is basically possible as well. But 400 ps is a large delay amount (about 65 mm trace length). You really don't want to cobble your board with delay lines to fix chip design faults.
The "below noise level" point suggests that you aren't extracting the right signal parameters. Are you analyzing artificial signals with known characteristic or natural signals?
In a rough estimation, leakage inductance depends only on the winding geometry rather than the core. (Not talking about core stray-field transformers with artificial magnetical shunt). In so far it can be estimated by analysis of an air coil transformer, usually as an axisymmetrical problem.
