Hai I am trying to get WNM of SRAM. I am following the procedure given in the book "Robust SRAM designs and analysis". I have attached the WNM graph (Fig1_WNM_book) from this book. My doubt is: As per the procedure, BL line is connected to Vdd and BLB line is connected to gnd. The voltage at source node Q is sweeping while monitoring QB an
Hello all, I am currently designing some pixel circuits for my bachelor thesis and am trying to analyse the noise of such a pixel using cadence. I have a couple of questions regarding this aspect as I am new to this.. Also please consider that the pixel is a black box (made up of a photodiode and transistors) whose input ports are some logic
I don't know what simulator you use in cadence Virtuoso. We can use various simulators from cadence Virtuoso. Invoke "Dynamic Parameter Ability" for Transient analysis, if you use cadence Spectre. param=isnoisy param_vec=
Need help in understanding some things about noise and dynamic range analysis. 1) We know THD (total harmonic distortion) and THD+N (THD+noise), which is THD measured with transient noise ON in cadence. Am I correct? 2) For a given input frequency and amplitude, SINAD is equal to THD + N, provided the (...)
I have made a simple transmission gate with one input (for signal with sinusiodal voltage input V0), a control (logic 0/1 to make switch On /OFF, with dc voltgae) and an output across a resistor. I want to do the noise analysis of this circuit. 1) Since it is not a differential circuit, how can i have positive and negative output nodes, for outpu
See You can see a defintion of NF(k) in Keysight ADSsim and GoldenGate. If you use more than three ports, e.g, port1=RF, port2=IF, port3=LO, NF(2) is different from NF of cadence Spectre. Here you have to use resistor + vsin instead of port3=LO.
I am trying to get the noise ****
Is "noise summary" tool reliable? It is reliable in most cases. Show me analysis statement. I don't know what simulator you use. However I recommend you to set "augmented=off", if you use Autonomous-Shooting-PSS/Pnoise in cadence Spectre. Try the followings, if you use cadence Spectre. (1) (...)
There is no tool whose name is cadence. Even if you use cadence ADE, we can use various vendor's simulators such as Synopsys HSPICE, Mentor Eldo, Keysight ADS, Keysight GoldenGate, cadence Spectre, etc. Always describe correct tool's name and vendor's name which you use as tool or simulator.
Hi i want to add noise to the input current source of my multiplier circuit and i want to run the DC analysis. Can anyone tell me can is there any noise file already written that i can obtain from cadence or do it have to write a file of my own and include the txt file. Also once obtained can anyone pls tell me how to (...)
Is there any way I can measure the bandwidth of the PLL - which is like a low pass transfer function- using cadence Virtuoso?
Hello, As you know, PVT simulation is process, voltage and temperature. About process simulation, you can use monte carlo simulation ( samples > 10). To voltage simulation, you will change voltage supply. For example, voltage supply is 3.3 V, you can run 3.2-3.4V and may be plus Vsin (noise). To temperature simulation, you can run 0-70 celcius.
hello I am simulating low noise transconductance amplifier circuit in cadence virtuoso and for the transient analysis I am getting the output current as 10 microampere when the input is fed at 2.4GHz and when ac analysis is done then the output at 2.4Ghz is showing as 10.339 mA.I could not understand the concept. Can (...)
how can we analyse kickback noise of dynamic comparator in cadence?? steps? how can we measure different types of noise in comparators?? how can we differentiate total noise from kickback noise component??
Hi all, i want do signal integrity analysis in cadence SoC encounter, i unable to do it.. i dont know how to do and analyse how to do it. can any of you help me out. appreciate your reply.
gangs, I am running .noise analysis in cadence's spectre. Two methods display the simulation results: method 1. plot equivalent input noise. This can be done by: locate spectre simulator menu-->results-->direct plot-->equivalent input noise. A figure will pop out. Then go to calculator's RMS function. The (...)
Where can I find the SpectreRF User Guide. The manuals I downloaded does not have enough information regarding PSS Pnoise analysis. Search help directory of your cadence or MMSIM installation. There are many help files in it...
May be this forum thread can help you, especially A. Beckett's answer.
It is simply due to limitation of small signal noise analysis in frequency domain. We can never get reliable result of phase noise for small offset frequency. This is true for any vendor's simulator such as Agilent ADSsim, Agilent GoldenGate, cadence Spectre, Synopsys HSPICE, Mentor Eldo, etc. See the followings. (...)
Open cadence ADE First, Chose the model Library you want to include Eable DC analysis, AC analysis, noise analysis(Select the frequency you interest) Then plot the AC magnitude and phase, you can check your GAIN, AC response, Phase margin here. You can also plot the curve of noise Plot the (...)
