hi, is your coaxial cable is 50ohm? only if your coaxial cable is 50ohm, you will get good response as before (S11 <-20dB). make sure you design 50ohm cable.

Hi, Have a look at this website : In HFSS, you can draw a 50 ohms coaxial line to feed this antenna. Look at the HFSS tutorial : there is one example that deal with a rectangular patch antenna feed by a coaxial line. A PIFA antenna will not be difficult to draw on HFSS.
I do not know your simulation but waveguides other than coaxial have other characteristic impedance than 50 Ohms. If you insert a coaxial-to-waveguide transition, the problem is solved in real situation.

I try your simulation and it is not possible, because your waveport isn't on a boundary. Instead of making a coaxial cable with vacuum. i would use a lumped port between the matching and the ground plane. For a first simulation this is accurate enough.

You don't need to use the coaxial feed for your uwb antenna simulation. remove the coaxial and feed directly at the microstrip. That gives you good accuracy. draw a port and define it according to the document. And λ/4 distance is good (...)
