Have you tested reliability of product under worst case environment for susceptibility and margin? dfm? dft? Or are merely asking about efficient programming method?
They buy the parts and assemble them in prototype stage and later in mass production. Doing prototypes gives the OEM the advantage of dfm/dft/DFC feedback early in the design so improvements can be made and save costs in volume. U can thisk FPGA is a rapid ASIC, for it miss many dft, dfm, DFY issue which are pre-fixed by the vendor. U just focus on Ur design. SOC, huge design age's produce, not many differents, but u should care about the internal bus speed, topologic, and sleep/wakeup mode for mcu.

Hi, The Design rules depends upon the manufacturer tolerances and also its design specific based on the application.
