What is your mesh definition? As your frequency is very high so proper and dense mesh must be used to get accurate results.
you can use time domain solver or frequency domain for this application. time domain will solve it quicker than frequency domain. you can use waveguide port for patch antenna.

Hello, What frequency are you operating at? For electrically large models, try using the I-solver. You could also try simulating the horn(if that is not too large) and monitor the fields around it (field source monitor).Then import the field source into a new simulation with the lens with it. That should save you some mesh in the models.

What is your transient solver? I think the periodic boundary condition are used in the frequency domain and commercial software can not solved structures with periodic boundary condition in the time domain.

As far as I remember you can only use Floquet ports in CST with frequency domain solvers, not the transient solver. You can use Floquet ports to design your unit cell. It is not suitable for full antenna simulation.
Which CST? There are many different solvers for CST Microwave Studio. For structures that are electrically large (many wavelengths), the time domain solvers should be more memory efficient than finite element frequency domain solvers.

You might want to tell us what applications you have in mind. Depending on - size of the model - materials used (types of materials) - accuracy/speed requirements - frequency range wideband/narrowband/single frequency - ratio between wavelength / geometric details the answer may change.

Hi, I have this problem too, sometimes. I do not know why, maybe dielectricum is problem. Try increase mesh cells. Or you can use frequency domain solver, it will be better.
Hello lidaasl, You did not tell that what software you are using for your simulation and which solver i.e. time/frequency domain? Try to set the meshing on adaptive with 5-6 passes you should get the converge results. If you are using CST, I can check it for you. Regards Praful
