Hi, There are dedicated "energy meter chips". Do you want to use one of them? --> if yes, then read their datasheet and application notes. If you want to use the pic inside ADC: * there are a lot of examples and hobby solutions in the internet. Read through them. * in general you need a fixed and stable sample rate to read both voltage and curre
My brotherz, actually am doing frequency measuring of pulses using ccp modules with pic 16f887+mikroc compiler, after fooling myself arround the code, ultimately, i managed to construct the codez, but there is stil one problem that needs to be rectified, since the results obtained on LCD is not stable, at one time, there is a wrong results,
Hi all, I am trying to make a frequency counter and wrote some code. I wanted to use a frequency averaging part to make things more accurate. But when I run the code with the averaging part it acts funny (at frequencies close to 10kHz). Also please give me some pointers to the variable declaration (eg int, float etc) as I am pretty sure me u
i want to make a frequency counter using pic16f877a using mikroc pro for pic,, please help
Then you can use my design with pic16F877A. Are you using external / internal oscillator. What is the oscillator frequency?
hi i wanna to measure the frequency from FM radio kit when i playing it, then display it on LCD 16x2. someone please teach me how to do it use Microcontroller, i just only know ASM languge thanks before
@bencassar; Have you considered using a microcontroller? Here are some ideas:
is the LM311 output on pin 7 to pic a constant voltage at varying lm311 provide varying frequency on PIN7 of pic micro between a few kHz to ~1Mhz regards Fragrance
hello, Just have a look on Texas TSL_235 sensor convert Light to frequency need only a timer
pic based frequency meter
Hi all, I am trying to interface pic16f876a with frequency meter having Modbus RTU protocol (9600, 8, E, 1). I could able to view the frequency data from PC using Modbus Poll software. But it fails to respond when I send it from pic with the same hex codes that is sent by the modbus software. I am using (...)
hi, here twographs : esr vs frequency, it doesn not change lot with frequency... and esr vs temperature, a little change
Hi, I recently downloaded source code in C for frequency meter using pic16f628a. But when compiling it in MPLAb v8.60 & HITECH C compiler, it shows no. of errors & warnings. Please anyone correct the C code. I'm new in pic project.
hi, my project is to design a digital speed-o-meter. and i m using timer-1 as the frequency counter and timer-2 as the 2sec. delay interrupter for taking a sample. then calculate speed using that counted pulses by the counter. problem is ...both the timers are working perfect individually but when i use both the timers in the same program it does n
The motor will generate noise when brushes make and break contact. The fundamental frequency of the noise will be the revolution rate of the motor. There will also be harmonics. Filters help.

Hi, There you go: Schematics and C code for a pic (16F877A) frequency counter operating up to about 50 MHz
just use the motorola frequency divider(prescalar).....mc12028 or similar...... it divides the frequency by 64 ....then it is easy to measure....i do have a home built frequency counter.using pic microcontroller.if you need it msg me.
Hi, this is my 2nd post here and i hope this is the right forum to ask: anyone of You have the software for Sprut's ESR + Cap meter using pic and LCD for this project: (in german... but with babelfish it' easy to translate in english) The same question for Sprut's frequency
Hi ! If you intend to use a pic as uC to measure the frequency from the LM311 oscillator, chose the TMR1 to count pulses. It can count up to 65535 so as AADE´s LC meter has the maximum frequency of around 700kHz fo the oscillator, you just count on TMR1 for just 10 ms (7000 pulses) and make the calculations with a (...)
