M95 Quectel gsm need fast response and higher baudrate for communication so try to your delay between you successive AT commands and after ctl+z (0x1a) wait for a few ms.
and basic thing check your network and sim balance to send a sms properly.

Trying to interface M590 with Arduino Uno. Example sketches did not work. Then I connected gsm to my laptop via USB to serial FTDI module. Using arduino serial monitor, communication with gsm Module seems alright as all AT commands responded by M590 module is correct.
But M590 module does not recognize the sim card. It says (...)

Because of the voltage level issue, this type of error should not occurred, because all of your other AT commands are working well with it. How you are using the same serial port for both gps and gsm? You mentioned some power supply issue in your system? Could you please explain more clearly? And there is an autobaud command for the sim 908 . Pls r

Have you solved this?
I'm asking because I have the same problem. My suspicion is the gsm operator blocks inbound TCP connections.
But a friend of mine is using a PC with an USB gsm modem configured as a SERVER. And it works!
Will try to borrow his sim card to do some tests.

It seems that something is making your sim VCC signal forcefully low. It should give 1.8V or 3V as per sim card support. While detecting sim hardware first gsm engine gives 1.8V Voltage cycle if it is supported by sim then it will work. If sim dont support 1.8V then gsm (...)
