Hello all, I have a question regarding two patch antenna array. does the distance between the patches varies the gain? (they are separated with at least lambda/2 so neglect coupling) I think that it does not, since the far field is composed of two elements: 1. Element pattern - does not change 2. Array factor - does not change at the max sinc
I found all the LED diode have a minimal forward voltage of 1.7V. Anyone knows that whether there are some LED diode with forward voltage less than 1V, and the forward current is less than 20mA? Thank you.
I have tried eigenmode solver using slow-wave example, frequency domain solver has a gamma plot but normalizing it through ko doesn't give the right response either. Also, I have plotted in HFSS using floquet ports. and I have tried to use the formula . Please assist me on th
What happens when a CO2 gas molecule in the atmosphere absorbs a photon of infrared radiation which has been emitted by the Earth?s surface? What about photons that are coming in from the Sun? As far as I can see, incoming photos would also collide with some of the CO2 molecules. So why does more heat come in than goes out? Any assist
Radiation resistance is something special, what you discuss here is input resistance. If we can ignore copper loss, dielectric loss, matching element loss, guided loss, etc., real(Zin) is equal to radiation resistance. Even if loss is not zero, real(Zin) is close to radiation resistance in many case
I have read papers that use LIDAR-like and LIDAR-Raman systems that detect elements. I want to measure the vapor water (H2O) and N2 of trees/agriculture using Arduino and low cost elements (DIY). I am thinking of using 405 nm 500 mW laser. The problem is how can I detect the returned wavelength? What I am thinking: 1) A CCD sensor? 2)
For assessing the temperature of FETs on the PCB, how far away from the fet should this thermal camera (HT-04) be held? The spec appears to suggest 32 inches away? We do notice that the temperature reading varies as we move the camera nearer/further from the fet.
For Reduced-size branch-line and rat-race hybrids for uniplanar MMIC's , how to derive equation (2) ? and is the imaginary constant j needed in equation (1)
Any tips and/or info on how to extend life of UV lamp. Thanks in advance.
Welcome G_V, In order to excite a TEM guided-wave mode, the port needs to contact both plates; this is why in your case it must be in either y-z or x-y. A lumped port is used for internal excitation, whereas a wave port excites modes from outside the simulation domain. Good luck with your simulations!
How to determine the impedance at combining node (Rcn) of doherty sub-amplifiers? Is it a standard for all DPA designs? Or depends on the design? Thanks in advanced154540
Hello I want to design a drive for a DFB laser transmitter. I want guidance for circuit design. And whether you have micro-code source code?
Helo all.i need a circuit which can generate a frequency of 27Mhz having a pulse rate of 800 pulses per second."Pulse on duration" should 100 micro seconds.Any one have any idea about the implementation of cicuit?Antena size should be 8cm
I am struggling to understand the behavior of this Marchand balun. Since I am still learning to use HFSS 13 and still learning microwave design, I may have done something not right... This is a simple microstrip Marchand balun that I am trying to adapt to 1.8 GHz f0. I connected a loop to the Balun balanced terminals to act as an antenna. I
hi everyone, I got free time and I want to build a circuit similar to the design of this site, as described in the website it detects and reacts with the presents of ir light but what I need is exact opposite, it should detect and react with absence of iR light. I'm not an ex
Hi Please could anyone elaborate on the meanings of various things in this (attached) document on Earthing & EMI Filters?.. The document is called ?Safety concerns for practical EMI line filters?? Some of the statements of this doc appear to be begging for clarificatio
Hello i have this rabbit ear antenna and i want to connect it to my 300ohm receiver input. i wont use the 300 to 75 ohm balun but as i know the open dipole antenna is 75ohm but here its connected to a 300ohm cable i miss something here? How to match it properly to 300ohm balanced cable?
i want to design Wideband isotropic / Omni-directional antenna Frequency Range .1GHZ -6GHZ Polarization Linear / Circular suggest me the best antenna for these specification .can any one send me data related this ?
I've read that a rule of thumb is: T-line length >= 0.1 Signal wavelength you need to consider transmission line effects. But if the T-line is "shorter", T-line effects can be ignored. But regardless of length, if Zo =/= Zl wouldn't issues of reflection and impedance matching still apply? Why can T-line effects be ignored when it is "shor
Hello All, I am implementing a TRL calibration, as a results i am solving for the propagation constant of my transmission lines. Solving for α+iβ... isn't β = 2π / λ where λ is the wavelength of the transmission line --> λ / √(er). With some test data, I can see my TRL calibration indeed returns the c
