I'm getting this warning message when starting hfss 13.0. Upgrading to 13.02 with a patch does not help resolve it. The application could not resolve the IP address of this machine: remote analysis and remote distributed analysis will not work. The machine is an 8 core Linux machine running CentOS 5.6 - basically Redhat 5.6.
I have designed a helix antenna. I used antenna design tool kit in hfss to create the model. to analyze the model I changed the solution type to driven modal but a message appeared: terminal 'coax_pin_T1': terminals are not used when the solution type is driven modal. Is my analysis in this situation correct? in fact i want to determine s11 and
Hi, I have a complicated resonant structure, for which I am sweeping two geometrical parameters. Besides the eigenfrequency of the system at each parameter setting, I would also like to output a derived quantity (integral of the electric field over a line), as a function of the two parameters. I can not afford saving the fieldmaps for each param
Hi I have some questions about transient analysis in hfss 13. First what does minimum radiating distance mean in PML setup wizard? Why it is fixed on 100 mm. Also why frequencies extracted do fixed at 901 and I appreciate if we can change it? And what does the plot of residual on a log scale mean?
For perfect conducting material, u do not need to define by yourself. hfss has defined PEC already.
Hi all i read hfss user guide 11 but not able to understand the significance of convergence, adaptive meshing, discrete meshin, when we should choose in analysis set up as fast, linearcount , discrete and what they all mean help in this respect katik
hi first you see a tree on your left side of hfss windows, if you look you 'll find analysis, then right click on it and select add solution, then new page will appear, first chose a frequency that you gana analysis the straucture then choose number of pass and at last choose amount of delta s best - - - Updated - - - hi f
Hi Topor89, Assuming that, we are having Design variable named "offset". And parametric sweep of "offset" is from 0 inch to 1 inch with the increment steps of .1 inch. After parametric analysis, we will have 11 set of fields, (0 inch, .1 inch, .2 inch.... upto 1 inch). To plot field for "0 inch", go to Menu hfss->Design properties, update the va
During an adaptive analysis, hfss refines the mesh iteratively in the areas of highest error.
hfss is an analysis tool. It will analyze the filter if the layout already exists. If you start from electrical specifications, and do not have a layout yet, hfss is the wrong tool. Instead, use a filter synthesis tool ike Nuhertz Filter Solutions (commercial product) or Nuhertz Filter Free (free limited version).
Hello all, I have done parametric analysis of elliptical patch antenna. Now i want to plot gain for different resonant frequencies. Can anyone tell me how to plot gain at different frequencies using hfss? Thanks in advance !! Aarti
and here it is: the paper cites the permittivity as 4.1. you are using 4.4 (default for fr4 in hfss) ---------- Post added at 15:50 ---------- Previous post was at 15:48 ---------- you should look at your s11 plot. using 0.1 your plot looks jagged. There is 100 Mhz between every data point. try 50 mhz or eve
i AM TRYING to do parametric analysis for RF MEMS CAPACITVE SHUNTswitches IN hfss. I wanted to simulate for s parameters for various values of widths of the beam and various values of height of the beam (airgap) The design variables are width and height. How can i assign these variables to the beam parameters so that parametric (...)
hi, i am designing a 5 patch antenna using hfss and facing error of "adaptive pass did not converge based on specified criteria" during simulation. Can someone advise me on the error as i am new in using this software.I tried simulation in one element using same analysis and radiation setup profile. Please help.thanks.
dear all, m wrking on micromachined microstrip patch antenna array in hfss. i want to know how to get gain curves E-Plots and H-plots after simulation.
pls tell me how to extrct field values from hfss.these values are important for me.because i want to calculate the probability density fun.(statistical analysis of E field values). plssss help me................
Hello Simos Check this link. let me know if its helpful Regards Elchachito
Hi, I am learning hfss simulation. I don't understand the meaning of "solution frequency" in analysis setup. How to setup it? I am trying to simulate a parallel plate waveguide, which has TM1 cut off frequency at 2GHz. If I want to see TM1 mode, I need to setup this solution frequency higher than 2GHz. Am I right? Thanks in advance.
***** I am desperate ********** I am simulating (hfss) an antenna working at 2.4 GHz (in its environment) and there is some DC voltage source to be included around the antenna Any idea on how to include a DC voltage source in hfss simulation? keeping in mind that I want the sweep frequency to be 2 to 3 GHz
If you have designed 3D model in hfss... you can send snap of that to understand mechanism... Hi there, There might be several similar threads, but - please believe me - I couldn't find what I am searching for. I am in a project where we use hfss for some simulations. Since we got really screwed up results for s
