Hello, I am trying to design dual band microstrip patch antenna but I calculate very low directivity, gain values. I am trying to solve this for few days but I couldn't. Could you please help me? Thanks... 133090
Hi everybody, ı am bs student and new at this forum. I supposed to design dual band microstrip patch antenna for WLAN operations for my thesis. I used inset fed for my design. antenna operates in 2.45 Ghz (between 2.40-2.52 ) and 5.80 GHz (between 5.70-5.88 ). I obtained good directivity and gain values for the 5.80 (...)
hi everyone,i have a project in hfss , i get good wsvr and s11 values but i cant have directivity and gain as i want. i uploaded my project here can anyone say what is wrong with my project ? 90907
i m beginner in hfss can u tell me how plot gain vs freq graph, radiation pattern, directivity vs frequency,co and cross polarization...if any doc then upload...pls help..
hello everyone.. i have design rectangular microstrip antenna but i dont know how to plot gain vs freq and radition pattern, directivity such parameter... also i m not able to find what that graph represent pls help...
Are you simulate this in CST / hfss or something similar?
hi i,ve designed a pifa antenna and simulated it with both ie3d and hfss, gain, s parameters, impedance and directivity are the same but electric field pattern are not!, i know this is caused by difference in method of MOM and FEM but how can i scale voltage source in IE3D or power source in hfss to get (...)
hi everybody i have designed a patch antenna in hfss for 100 MHz i am getting fine RL at 100 MHz but the other antenna parameters gain, directivity etc. are not quite well , i am unable to understand this problem can anyone help me in this regard please, my email id in, if any (...)
hy for all I'm trying to simulate rfid microstrip antenna with complex input impedance witch 25.5 +145*j i used a lumped port for the exitation my problem is that when i use a power of 1w as source i find in result incident power = 5.74 accepted power = 0.17 radiated power is 0.06 the obtained gain is 0.45 and the directivity is (...)
what is your problem hfss has a tool which design it
hfss calculates directivity, gain, and power radiated, but I was wondering if I can measure them physically (without a simulator). If so, what equipment, technique, etc. is used for that? Please reply ASAP as I have a presentation due soon. Thanks
Hi all, I am designing a VHF small antenna using hfss. Since it is a narrow-band antenna, I need to simulate the matching network to maximise the received power. Do you know what is the best way to do that, once I have the S11, Z11 and Y11 parameters? Thank you.
hello, I have been using hfss to design an antenna at 867Mhz.But the gain that i am getting is -4.9bd and directivity around the same.I have miniaturized the patch antenna.I have even physically implemented it with a reader and got 5 feet range for the tag in vertical and horizontal orinetation. But (...)
There is a example of AWR named: Microstrip Patch antenna. You can check that example to try to find any help. If you need antenna directivity, maybe hfss can help.
I was building UHF phobe exactly as the handbook says, but when I tried to create far field overlay, I couldn't find 'gain' among category of the Mag Tab. I just see those options in the blank: Variables Output Variables rE directivity Polarization Ratio Axial Ratio antenna Params Design I cannot find the (...)
I'm simulating an antenna over a range of frequencies and trying to figure out where the maximum gain would be. I know that you can look at the antenna parameters at a certain frequency ("radiation" -> "infinite sphere" "compute antenna parameters"), but does anyone know if you can plot some of these properties (ie (...)
Dear All, I have tried to simulate a microstrip patch antenna. I got reasonable return loss and directivity. However, the simulated gain and radiation efficiency are not good. I think that the problem is from the way of modeling on the hfss. I have attached the simulation file in the message. Can anyone tell me what is (...)
Hi all, I need some hfss examples and documents about antenna design.I do not know how to simulate it's efficiency, beamwidth, directivity, gain, axial rate and more about the antenna parameters,Anybody kindly help me how to set? Thank you,
plz help me anyone tell me , in hfss and CST which type of antenna used as reference antenna for calculating the farfield parameters of user designed antenna like gain, directivity, copolar and crosspolar level etc.
hfss provides several "versions" of gain. Read online help carefully to see the distinctions. You can go into the post processor, far field section and look at the report options to see the choices. I usually find total gain (in dBi) to be most useful. Just an additional comment, be careful as some to the plots do not default to dB and (...)
can you upload antenna's hfss file to forum? or email it to i try to modified it
Hello, how can I plot the directivity of an antenna in hfss in dBi (relative to an isotropic antenna) since in the plot window I can only select dB for the measurement unit? Thank you
If you want to design a Yagi antenna you will work under 1 GHz frequenzy and you want a very directional antenna. I will use hfss to simulate this type of antenna. By
When I simulated an Biconical antenna in hfss, the gain is larger than directivity, why? who can give me a answer? thank you!
Hi, my friends: when i was simulating a circularly polarized antenna with hfss simulation software, i found a very very strange phenomena. The gain was 1.6 dBi higher than the directivity. As you know this should not happen because its like 0 is greater than 1. Do you have the same experience? Is it because of the (...)
directivity is calculated by integrating the pattern and doesn't include any losses in the antenna. Usually when directivity is referred to, it means the peak value of the directivity pattern. For example, the peak directivity of a half-wave dipole is 2.15 dBi. gain includes the effects (...)
Sorry, Suplement the hfss file
Hi, everyone As I known, idea sphere pattern's directivity is 0dB. if pattern isn't sphere, the max directivity should be more than 0dB. but i simulated a simple microstrip antenna, show the efficiency >0.9,directivity<0dB.Why? see : lydu
obtain the gain/directivity with hfss and then use the formula G=4piAef/lambda^2
i simulate a gsm dualband helical antenna in hsff. but the peak gain and directivity computed by hfss is always below -10dbi, this is obviously wrong, and the radiated power always large than the accept power, how it can be? But the radition pattern and return loss seem to be correct. pls help me.
