Hi!
I am currently trying out to get the value of an **output** **variable** in **hfss** 17.1 using a script. My problem is an Eigenvalue Problem and executing **output**.Get**output****variable**Value('Mode_1','','Setup1 : LastAdaptive','Eigenmode Parameters',{}) works, when I try to do the same thing for a (...)

Hello,
I am trying to write script that creates an **output** **variable** that can be use as a goal function in an optimization routine for pattern synthesis.
I have a hard time putting all this together (either **hfss** or Designer).
Some questions:
1. can the desired pattern be an array defined by in imported series of points?

Dear all,
Is it possible to process results in CST just like how we can use **output** **variable**s in **hfss**?
For example, in **hfss** I can define a new **variable** called 'ratio' which I specify as S21/S31. I need this because I'm running an optimizer in CST for antenna design.
Any help would be greatly (...)

Unfortunately I can't test it at the moment, but here is an example for clarification:
If, for example, i will normalize the S-Parameter to a reactance of 30 Ohm at a frequency of 100 MHz i would use a capacitance of 53 pF.
Normally, at a frequency of 200 MHz this 53pF capacitor would lead to reactance of 15 Ohm. So the S-Parameter at this frequenc

Instead of using **hfss** to get the sum of all the Q values, use Matlab, it is much more easy.
After you plot the **variable** Q against frequency. Right click on the graph and export to .csv file. Then you can use Matlab to find the sum of all Q values.

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to simulate a unit cell of a volumetric transmission line in **hfss**, like Figure 1 in the paper. My question is, how did they graph the propagation constant vs frequency. I've looked through **hfss** manuals and can't find it. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi everyone,
I would like to ask how to write a function in creating report in **hfss** version 10. I know that there is a **output** **variable** to write function such as A-B. But I would like to ask how to write function if there is IF case.
anyone have the example of writting function.

I am trying to simulate capacitors with certain Q values as lumped elements!
i am trying to give equivalent capacitor values as C_eq = C *(1-j/Q) but i am having difficulty in defining j as local **variable**. can some one help me in resolving it.
Thanks in advance

Hello, I have a question about **hfss** script. I have a problem when I want to use an **output** **variable** in a mathematical expression. I try to use the command "o.design.Get**output** **variable**Value" to put the value of the "**output** **variable**" in a declared **variable** but (...)

This has been puzzled me for a while. There's no such thing like a "3dB BW" in **hfss**. I understand you may watch the s11 curve and measure the portion higher than -10 dB for the bandwidth. But how can you optimize it? Is there a way to write an express in "**output** **variable**" to calculate the 3dB BW automatically?
Thanks

when designing a cavity resonator filter by KQ method in **hfss** v9.2, I simulate the single-port structure consists of the first resonator and the input port and get the phase of S11. I know we can directly get the Qe from the phase of S11 by the Macro in CST MWS.
Could you tell me whether I can also directly get Qe from the phase of S11 in **hfss**?
