Hi, If you want to power it from the liion battery: Look for micropower LDO. But I recommend to use a coin cell. Klaus
Hi, charging a liion battery is a problem of current and voltage. There are several charging techniques described in the internet. They tell you how to set (change, regulate) current and voltage. Knowing this you can use a * microcontroller and * a power supply (linear, switch mode...) with adjustable voltage and/or current. (acting as chargi
My SIM808 runs on a liion battery within nominal voltage range. On an incoming calls after a few rings it always outputs "OVER-VOLTAGE POWER DOWN" and shuts down the system. This is happening always since the unit is built in to a conducting enclosure and rarely when it was open on a lab desk. When the SIM808 was fresh out of the box this did not
hi i have bought a xiaomi battery bank 10400 mah but it is fake. one of its cell is filled with sand. others are of poor quality hardly 300-500mah each. i looked at circuit board. there is an ic from tpower tp4221B . this is smart ic for liion battery charging. i checked the cells voltage when it fully charged them .cells were (...)
Hi, I am designing a Li-Ion pack and was wondering....would I have to use those 5W resistors for bleeding the cells as they are quite big in size for a PCB...I am using 5W resistors because maximum voltage of a single cell can be 4.2V and I need atleast 550mA bleeding speed. 2W resistors won't do there any other alternative or resistors
The above links Linear Chargers. The above link switch mode charger controller from Maxim Integrated. Switch mode controllers more efficiency then Linear controllers.
I do not believe that the 'suggested' initial 6-7 hours charge is needed. Nothing that I have ever read about liion or LiPoly chemistry requires that, once the initial charge is done during manufacture. Personally, I have used a lot of liion cells over the years and have never noticed any benefit from this. The industry says things to consumers
Hi boys, I need liion backup for my GSM module apllication. I have 12V supply, which is regulated to 4V. I found MCP73871 for liion charging. When I remake circuit and use this IC as power IC, with liion backup, will be power supply enough for GSM module when I use this without liion? liion will be used (...)
Hello, I am wondering, if it is possible to recharge battery using fluctuating power source like bicycle dinamo. Its voltage varies from 0-6 V, and current from 0-650mA. So, I am riding a bicycle and stop, and riding and stop, etc. etc. days... I would like to recharge NiMh batteries, and probably liion. So I not sure what kind of charger to b
Look at that:
Hello, I need to power a circuit with 3.3V, this circuit includes a ARM7 MCU, a SDCard and a Siemens TC65 GSM Module. I would like to power this module with a Li-Ion 1200mAh battery, for which I own a Charger. The problem is with the power supply design. The liion Batt has a 3.7V nominal, and more than 4.3V when charging or charged fully. I w
In Notebook battery pack all the batteries are soldered and always connected with each other. So I think you should use the same way. Why do you want to prevent only overdischarge? The most dangerous is overcharge condition. How many samples you are going to manufacture? There is a lot of protection ICs for liion batteries with different confi
If you use liion battery the voltage not exactly 3.7V. It is about 4.2V for full charged battery and about 2.5V for fully discharged battery.
NiMH & NiCd -- constant current lead acid & Li Ion -- constant voltage Especially for liion, but also for very fast charging of the other types you need to use an inteligent charger, that controls voltage, temperature, current and time of charging. Otherwise the battery may explode from overcharging.
Hi! This circuit itīs a simple DC DC converter...only this...not have many "dark" secrets. If You have minor knowledge in any mobile phone, You can see that the liion battery voltage for charger are: 4.0 or 4.2VDC maximun, the current charge maybe change during the charge process, but not much. This circuit can be simulated in ORCAD PSPICE for
