Hi all circuit designers, I have 2 questions reagarding biasing a lna, as shown in the capture below: 157930 1/ For what i ve known so far, the R0 resistor is employed as a large enough value to restrict the noise current contribution from current mirror into core lna devices. However, if I have a stable power supply
I would like to know the RF circuit implementation method for 20GHz to 40GHz. The RF circuits are lna, filters and PAs. Can these circuits implemented on a PCB or only IC? Any particular IC technology needed?
We are a midsize biotech organization with little/no internal Si design expertise that is likely to need outside design services for low-noise transimpedance amplifier arrays: 1000s of channels (possibly 10k's of channels in subsequent revs of the design), on as tight a pitch as reasonably possible. This will be Si-level design, with integrated D
Hello, I am planning to measure the phase noise of a VCO using PLL technique using spectrum analyzer model # R&S FSL (9kHz - 3GHz). My question is what should i look for in the spectrum analyzer for measuring the phase noise. Do I need to plot the output of the LPF (connected at the output of the mixer) from 9kHz to, say, 100kHz? Then the re
I think you have to ask the manufacturer. Otherwise you have to design the lna (or verify you design) using the S-parameters (I think they are supplied) and measure the non-linear performance of your design on a test board, adjusting on it the components until you reach your target.
I tried to design an lna before using ATF55143, but I see they became obsolete. What can I use now for a 2-3 GHz low noise HEMT?
Yes, It is absolutely right. It does not make sense (s2p values will generate for particular temperature). What should be done?, have we to take nonlinear model of transistor and set it different values of temperature and measure the S-parameters and Noise Figure of lna. Guide me, how to set different values of temperature
Firstly, is it integrated or not? Integrated mixer's input is connected to a low noise amplifier (lna) usually, matching between them is not necessary until the frequency is not too high and distance is low between them. Even with discrete devices this statement can be valid. Share more details, specifications what you want.
Hi this is my attempt to create a cheap but effective 1-60MHz measurement marker generator and simple tracking generator for a Tektronix 491 vintage spectrum analyzer. The nominal levels of the input of the analyzer are shown in the right. Calibration, a must for old machines, should be of no importance with my plugin, since the DDS generated mar
There is no such CMOS Transistor for lnas. There were some discrete pHEMTs, BJTs once upon a time but all have gone.. Some Infineon BJTs and some other pHEMTs are still there but very limited.
I want to design lna from 12-18 GHz. I want to get s11 and s22 less than -10 dB. Which are the best topologies for obtaining broad band lna from 12-18 GHz. Can you guide to obtain S11 and S22 less than -10 dB from 12 to 18 GHz.

I am familiar with designing lna using Microwave Integrated Circuit(MIC), I can design any band lna using MIC technology using Keysight technology Advanced Design System (ADS) with no difficulties. I would like to design different band lna using MONOLITHIC MICROWAVE INTEGRATED CIRCUIT (mmic) Technology. I do not know (...)
Hi, I need to have Bias Sequence card for GaN based Power Amplifier. GaN based device needs sequencing , Gate voltage (-6V to -2V) first and then Drain voltage (Vd) (40 to 62V). please help me to do this . REgards, sathish
We would like to design lna and PA for Satellite Applications in the Ku Band. If Some knows design specifications of lna and PA for Satellite communication applications in the Ku Band and also some knows for receiver block diagram. Please can you share with us
Hello everyone, I am designing a receiver at 100MHz composed of : - lna close to antenna - 100m of coaxial cable - ADC processing As the signal I want to capture is low (-120dBm) and the frequency plan lies into the FM range, I am worry about the ingress effect at the coax cable. So the power at the cable input (after the lna) will be -70d
I have to make a simple GPS Receiver board. So i have a Passive Patch->T Matching Network(Values not decided, antenna manufacturer will give me the values once they have my PCB) ->9.2nH(as specified in lna datasheet) -> lna -> SAW Filter -> GPSIC Patch antenna manufacturer has given me a T-matching type of circuit which i have to place just afte
Noise figure stands the ratio between the total noise above thermal noise. After lna, both the signal and the noise level at the output has been significantly boosted, so the extra noise introduced by later stages becomes less significant.
Hello, we are designing a lna. So,can anyone help us out with the receiver block diagram for satellite communication....we cant find it on internet
Hi everyone, I want to share with you the 55-65 GHz low noise amplifier. The chip is a three-stage V-band Monolithic Low Noise Amplifier (mmic) with good electrical performance. It is manufactured by standard CMOS process. The power consumption is as low as 15mW to obtain 20dB small signal gain and -8dBm output -1dB compression point.
