Hi, i have designed a lna using cadence 0.13um cmos technology with bandwidth of 4-6 GHz. My dc and sp simulation run well but my pss simulation keep terminating and show me there is an error. Can anyone please help? I have attached the related images104761104762104763 here.
Dear All, I am working on differential lna and extracted parameters such as P1dB,IIP2 and IIP3,IIP5 using cadence pss and PAC analysis, and i got IIP3=-15dBm,IIP5=33dBm and IIP2=-42dBm. am i getting correct results for IIP2 ? Thanks in advance.
To BigBoss: The input impendence in my design is 50 ohms. Thanks. To jiripolivka: The simulation is the guide of the circuit design, and I think we cannot skip it when we design a shematic. Usually, we should adjust the parameter of the shematic according to the result of the simultaion. You are very kindly to reply me, th
Hi there, Ive built a lna + Mixer + Lo direct down-conversion receiver. flo = frf = 5.2G. However I met lots of trouble when trying to get IP3 and Noise Figure of total circuit. Cadence cannot perform pss simulation due to non-convergence. At first it's because we have both driving source and autonomous in one circuit. So I add a small sourc
Hi, I am trying to match input impedance of lna with antenna impedance of 50+1000j. While tuning the input matching network, i did s-parameter and pss analysis in cadence, using input port of 50+1000j impedance, but i am getting some strange results. Firstly for input port impedance of 50+1000j, s-parameter analysis show gain of 13dB. With t
IIP3 and P1dB relation is valid under a input level at least 30dB below of P1dB compression point. If P1dB compression point is -for instance- 10dBm and lna Gain is 20dB, input level should be below -40dBm so that this relation becomes true. Because IIP3 or OIP3 is a an extrapolation point and a circuit never reaches that pseudo nonlinear OP
who know the relationship between P1db and IIP3?
Hi Guys WHen I simulation the lna P1dB using pss. If I sweep the power range is large, the pss always has convergence problem. I am wondering if someone else have the same problem and have a solution to allow pss to converge for high imput power? Thanks Spss is generally a simulator with some (...)
I have the following question: If I do iip3 simulation for an lna and after choosing the output, the iip3 is -3dBm for example. If I choose the net of the input as the output for iip3 calculation, it will be -3dBm(ideally it should be infinity), Why does this happen ? I use pss followed by PAC for simulation. thanks in advance, Moham
Hello, I am trying to simulate the front-end, which includes lna, mixer, OSCILLATOR and LO buffer. Just wonder whether it is possible to get the gain, NF and IIP3 using The spectreRF manual has the example using a port/vsin for the LO, but if the port is replaced with an LC oscillator, how to set it up ? Thanks
Dear all, I have a Rx chain (included lna+mix1+mix2) + baseband filter and VGA. I have combined all together and run the pss + PXF in order to get the overall voltage gain. However, the simulation result is strange to me. It gives the M-shape voltgae gain and the voltage different is 10dB. However, the voltage gain flatness of Rx chain is within
Dear all, I design a lna + low IF mixer. I have combined them and do the voltage gain simulation using spectreRF. I use pss + PAC to get the voltage gain result. However, it gives out a strange result. Actually, I need to set the RF input port PAC Magnitude in a certain value for simulation. If I give different magnitude, the voltage gain is dif
Hi! I try to simulate NF for lna vs input RF power (prf) for a particular freq. My pss+pnoise is: pss fund=1G harms=20 errpreset=conservative method=gear2only annotate=status pnoise sweeptype=absolute start=1G lin=50 maxsideband=10 oprobe=PORT1 iprobe=PORT0 refsideband=0 annotate=status I got NF of 80 dB even at very small prf.
I am using Cadence spectre. I simulate lna+mixer. I found the PAC gain is different with the gain, which simulated by the transient. the gain difference is larger than 3dB. Anyone knows the reason? thanks.
I have a problem with my IIP3 simulation. In my receiver system, I have an lna and a Mixer connected together and I want to simulate the IIP of the whole chain by using Spectre. I follow the manual from Cadence by using pss+PAC analysis to simulate it. The result shows that the slope of the third-order curve is not exactly 3. It varies ar
Dear All, I am simulating lna and other RF components in spectre for the 1st time. Is there any good document where I can learn more on pss,PAC, Noise analysis using spectre, like what basically pss, PAC means. Very basic on these topics. Thanks in adavance. Prakash
in pss, the beat frequency should be accuracy and also need a large harmonic sideband number. When you display the result make sure you look at the right harmonic for the fundament frequency. You can reference the manual : Spectre RF user guide , there is a detail simulation case for lna. Hope it helps
hi i designed a circuit for lna.i simulated for s parameters.i wanted to do pss analysis to find out 1 db compression point and iip3.i am getting problems by setting the analysis(specifying the parameters in the analysis window).can anybody help in this regard..or post any help material regarding this. how to set the pss analysis (...)
Hi, You design a lna ckt for a NF and gain. So you use the equations back and derive the noise which is pretty tedious. The other approach is you can use ADS and measure (simulate) the gain and NF. Hope this helps B R M
I'm simulating an lna and pss fails on me. The simulator settings are default ones. I have heard for pss one has to change the tolerance settings. I don't know how and which setting. pls help. Here's the error: Internal error found in spectre during periodic steady state analysis (...)
