Hi, i have designed a lna using cadence 0.13um cmos technology with bandwidth of 4-6 GHz. My dc and sp simulation run well but my pss simulation keep terminating and show me there is an error. Can anyone please help? I have attached the related images104761104762104763 here.

Hi, I am trying to match input impedance of lna with antenna impedance of 50+1000j. While tuning the input matching network, i did s-parameter and pss analysis in cadence, using input port of 50+1000j impedance, but i am getting some strange results. Firstly for input port impedance of 50+1000j, s-parameter analysis show gain of 13dB. With t
IIP3 and P1dB relation is valid under a input level at least 30dB below of P1dB compression point. If P1dB compression point is -for instance- 10dBm and lna Gain is 20dB, input level should be below -40dBm so that this relation becomes true. I have the following question: If I do iip3 simulation for an lna and after choosing the output, the iip3 is -3dBm for example. If I choose the net of the input as the output for iip3 calculation, it will be -3dBm(ideally it should be infinity), Why does this happen ? in pss, the beat frequency should be accuracy and also need a large harmonic sideband number. When you display the result make sure you look at the right harmonic for the fundament frequency. You can reference the manual : Spectre RF user guide , there is a detail simulation case for lna. Hope it helps

Hi, You design a lna ckt for a NF and gain. So you use the equations back and derive the noise which is pretty tedious. The other approach is you can use ADS and measure (simulate) the gain and NF. Hope this helps B R M
