I have very basic question about Master and slave boundary conditions. I know they are used to model the periodic structures and are used to plot dispersion curves. My question is how can we relate Master and Slave boundary conditions with pec and pmc boundaries.

hi Master/Slave boundary are used for periodic structures that go to infinity but pec/pmc are used for structures that are electric or magnetic conductors, in fact if im right, you have to use Master/Slave boundary because your structure is periodic! regards red

as ashish said the CST base on FDTD but its not a full FDTD The CST time domain solver is based on FIT, which is closely related to FDTD.
