pic16 hasn't a printer port like a PC has, just general purpose I/O ports. The PC related parallel port C code most likely doesn't fit. Do you want to connect a parallel port printer to a pic design? Hello I'm newbie with pic. I would like to read 12.5 kHz square wave frequency from printer port output. This 12.5 kHz square wave have to be read by pic16F877A. Do you mean a simple printer board? It involves sending the 8 data bits, generating STB and reading BUSY state, a "project" of 10 code lines or so.
