Microprocessor pwm units are not well suited to drive stepper motors. Instead use timer interrupts and pulse pattern generation in software.

It is not a DC motor. You can't drive it from constant current directly. Current should be limited by using pwm with variable duty cycle. I can't understand why you don't want to try google this topic before posting.
