When I simulate the noise performance of an amplifier using Cadence spectre, I can get the values of output noise voltage (Vn,out) and noise figure (NF). But I use the formula NF=square(Vn,out/A)*1/(4kTRs) (A is the voltage gain.) the result of NF is different with the simulation result. Why?
Do you know how to measure the noise current of a transistor in saturation? I bias the mos in sat region then how to specify/manage the probes in noise analysis.

You cannot use SP analysis with mixer noise. SP is a small signal linear simulation that does not take into account frequency translation. (Although I heard about spectre RF's Periodic SP simulator - PSP that can be used to calculate the noise figure for periodically varying circuits). You can use HB simulator in ADS or (...)
well, if u r using only spectre (no spectre RF) then can put sin source representing noise signal and do transient analysis and examine the noise at the output (of course this can be done also with the dc offset). if u have access to spectre RF u can do PSS then Pnoise , and see the (...)
Type "spectre -h model_name" in terminal. There are many model names for BJT. See correct name in netlist.

concerning the jitter - as jitter depends on the noise created in the TX driver stage you can do a transient noise simulation with mmsim/spectre from cadence - if you use cadence tools ... after running the transient noise simulation with a pseudo-random-bit-generator or just a pulse (...)

you can use spectre RF for phase noise simulation. If the input frequency of the pll is fixed, the tuning range is dependant on the process variations. The tuning range of the VCO should cover the process variations.

the simulation just tell me the noise out/noise in=nf and added noise, but when I change the source impedance and temperature all of the three noise also changed,can anybody tell me based on what the noise data are given out especially noise in.
