As shown in the bellowing figure, I plot the intrinsic gain of three nmos transistor with 180nm process. The Vds of the three transistors are set to 0.75V, and then I sweep the Vgs voltage of all of them from 0 to 1.5V. (The Y-aix is the intrinsic gain, and the X-aix is the Vgs.) Their size are 5/0.5, 5/0.5, and 50/10, with the um unit. From
Hi, I am working on a design using CMOS. I do a Vgg sweep to observe current density, and now want to plot Zopt vs device size with fixed current density. Do you know how I should do that? Thanks,
Hi In HFSS you can draw the Line structure and then can sweep it if it is symmetrical. You can also play with standard shapes by applying Boolean functions. what exactly you want o draw? - - - Updated - - - Hi I use this way to draw the random curves 1. Using lines draw 2.D geometry. 2. Select the desired f
Hello how to define and set name of each surface of an object in HFSS?because I need this option to use drawing sweep - - - Updated - - - Hello I test this way but I can't set a name. here is my shape 126292 when I select the object and modeler->surface->section and select XZ plane i
Hi Guys, I need an "ULTRA FAST sweep Function Generator",also checked all function generator on market but the min time for sweep is 1ms but I need 0.01ms. So I've decided to make my own sweep function generator. Which one is better for fast sweep? DSP or FPGA ? :???:
I use a idc source to give a 1A current to sweep the frequency. and the figure looks like this: 108576 Thanks, Dominik Przyborowski and FvM. - - - Updated - - - By the way, do you think cadence/spectre simulation can simulate the inductor impedance by relecting skin effect and core
Draw cross section in 2-D with primitives and boolean operations and then use thicken sheet or sweep surface to create geometry, the gap is going to be tricky probably have to do a polyline and then sweep it. Can't tell what gap size is from picture, or size of anything else for that matter since there is no scale or (...)
for your frequency sweep you have 3 options: fast, discrete , and interpolating. fast is generally quicker but takes more memory. discrete only solves at designated frequencies so you miss out on anything not at those frequiencies. interpolating takes similar memory to discrete but interpolates points between discrete points. To reduce size not phy
Hi everyone, I used the Solve Ports Only (HFSS) to determine the wave port size. It should allow only the fundamental mode to propagate. Solution Freq.=14.25GHz (operation freq.); sweep Freq.=; I want to see the transmission characteristics (including S-parameters later) in the sweep freq (bandwidth). The wave port (...)
Hi everyone I want to run a simulation in HSPICE which has an input file to sweep the parameters which size is 426 MG. when I start the simulation using this file I encounter the error: 'could not find data statement for 2nd sweep' . when I copy 20 line of the input file to a new file and simulate the file using the new input file there is (...)
It is capable of maintaining a reasonable VSWR match over an extremely wide frequency range. The construction includes elements that progressively change size, yet all couple their energy to the feed line. This makes it useful for things like EMC testing where a signal generator can deliver a wide frequency sweep in one go. Also, for any situat
You can change a temperature for whole simulation in ADE L/XL options or make a dc simulation with temperature sweep. If you want some parametric simulations You also can define some "corners" with varied temperature.
Hi you are right results are same at same frequcey points in case of step size 0.1 GHz adn 0.2 GHz. But my problem is that First I optimized the design with 0.2 GHz step size and achieved the desired results for entire band 7.25-8.4 GHZ. But when I decreased the step size to 0.1 GHz due to the more number of frequecy points results are (...)
using CST,you can use parametric sweep to find the best thickness of the superstrate I think it's not any deterministic relation for thickness of superstrate so the general solution is trial and error.
Are you able to sweep with above?
I think it's not very difficult,so you can use parametric sweep to get the best size of your feeding.
Hi I have simulated coplanar waveguide in CST, however since the software is licensed to 100,000 meshes. When I solve it using transient solver the simulation stops saying to reduce no of mesh size. I have noidea how to reduce the no of mesh . I have tried several options like reducing frequency sweep range. also several other suggested by CST hel
scatter plot in matlab or octave: plot(x,y,'.') In cadence I don't know exactly. There is a command "plotStyle('scatterPlot)" you can type into the icfb. But how exactly you choose series I don't know. I guess the 'x' would always come out as first sweep variable .. ---------- Post added at 12:52 ---------- Previous pos
Hi Chris, there is no way to change the box size from within a parameter sweep. For a given model, the box size is fixed. Your approach to set the box for the maximum size, and then use linked ref planes that follow the parameters, is the correct procedure. We have some university users over here who drive Sonnet from (...)
Hello all, can anybody post design methodology of a gilbert cell?These are specs I'm targetting at R0=400K Swing = Vdd/5 gain= 15-20 Vctrl sweep -Vdd/2 to Vdd/2 Vp > 0.2 I'm working at 90nm technology node(with vdd=1.2) Thanks &Regards, Ravinder.
heavy doped NMOS, TOX=80A, Arsenic 1.0E15 atom/cm?, sweep Vg=-3~3V, VS=VD=VB=0. Now no right curve got, even part of curve. Another, Can use Agilent-4284 test LF C-V? I am designing a RF Class E power amplifier in Cadence. Does anyone know how to sweep input power to get input power versus output power chart in cadence? Is it PSS or what? Where can I find a step to step tutorial teaching how to do pss or related simulation? Thank you
I think you should create a line and then select your geometry, select the line and then choose Draw-> sweep along line.. You should get your 3D drawing. For more instruction, look at the help file for sweeping along the line. Added after 1 hours 9 minutes: I have a problem of my own. When I import the d
Right click on the report. Choose modify report. Go to sweep and adjust the number of steps.
I've desiged a ring resonator to measure the dielectric of mangosteen,so I have to sweep the dielectric constant and also define the tangent delta electricwith a range of frequency form 1 to 10 MHz . How do I define the variables to sweep the dielectric constant and delta electric? ( I defined the designed frequency of ring resonator to b

You have to use HB noise controller in ADS. Provide sweep. See the help provided in ADS. It will give you the procedure.
Hi, as to the Gm simulation, you can use "DC" analysis to sweep input differential voltage, and detect the output current, and then use "deriv" function in the calculator. for Rout, use "SP" analysis, you can get parameters such as Z11, Z22, etc. and Z22 is what you want. Hope it helps! Added after 5 minutes:[/
that's a good question. i'm not sure, but if i was you then i would do a discrete sweep around the resonant frequency and then check S11 and the impedance...
During my simulation of CPW-fed monopole antenna centered at 2.45Ghz, the error occured. Please experter or experienced man check it for me. What does it mean? What should I do next step? Thanks a lot! cpwfed_monopole (D:/Program Files/project/) glass_substrate Fast sweep setup, process abc3d
Its seem to be quite tricky design. I wold suggest you to change the size of 2nd and 3rd iteration trough parameter sweep.

You can set W or M-factor as a variable. Then run Parametric analysis. Select variable to sweep, set FROM and TO, number of steps. After analysis will be over use calculator fuction delay. It will plot Delay vs Parameter (or Variable).
you can do the same thing through transient sweep also but keep the step size as small as possible. amarnath
as I know hspice can use hspice_mt and assign 2 cpu .. but I nevry find speed up . and I use sweep parameter ( .temp 30 50 ) and I find hspice_mt fisrt assign CPU 0 , and second assign CPU 1 , not parallel simulation why ? Added after 41 minutes: I find problem on circuit .. hspice_mt is suit f
I was getting this problem somtimes. To fix it, I changed my sweep from fast to interpolating and decreased the radiation box to just over a quarter wavelength in size around the object. The interpolating sweep just gives better results and doesn't take much more time. kj.
1. pick up the face 2. draw>sweep> around vector make sure the vector is normal to the surface Added after 49 seconds: there is not extrude accion as in CST
please tell me whether its necessary that every solution should converge somewhere when using HFSS9.2 normally i just give the solution setup then sweep with some step size ........and then validate it and simply run and note the results..... i don't go in RESULTS/SOLUTION DATA/CONVERGENCE and check whether the solution gets converged somew
My 15-inch Mag CRT monitor (model D510) first started its symptoms with an intermittent loss of vertical sweep (single horizontal line across the screen) for only a second or two, then return to normal. Days later, new symptoms appeared: the picture would shrink to 2/3 of its original size, be off-center, and come with a decrease in brightness. At
Anyone know how to probe the required nodes only for a DC sweep in HSPICE simulation ? I am afraid the .probe is only for the transient analysis
Hi! I need to measure the transistor's on impedance (NOT resistance) versus its size. I am using cadence Viruotso. The transistor is from the PRIMLIB library. I am looking for a circuit to do that. I do not want to use the the "sweep" capability in cadence simulation environment. Any help or idea!!!??? Regards
Start with the middle point of the swing and sweep.Because you can't match well the size of pmos and nmos.
2itaifrenke Thanks for your HFSS "sweep" guide. One small remark. The Fast sweep method is very hungry to a memory. And that is the main reason why I use Interpolating sweeps instead. With a mesh size > ~100.000 it is not possible to use Fast sweep in practice.
