anyone have any idea on using visual c++ as a scheduler? If I understood correctly then you are trying to say that you want to execute a piece of code in a definite fashion with a set priority (after windows kernel) like a schedular (because visual c++ generaly uses windows schedular). Please let me know that my und
If you want the complete source code for the USB standard, go for Linux. You won't find it for has the Linux kernel source code but that's not easy to get started with. IMHO if you need to use USB interface in SW, you don't need to know the code implementing the full standard. You just need to know the standard and the int

Some points to consider. 1. Interface: The method/bus/technology implemented to communicate with the processor. 2. Operating System: To which operating system the system is used.( windows, Linux, Embedded, RTOS) 3. Application: Where the system is used. Whether kernel will communicate or user can communicate. 4. Protocol: Memory interface and
VMWARE takes all your RAM memory, why you don't try using wine? there is a lot of information online about how to install some windows programs with it.
For my bsc final year project i need to develop neural network controler using matlab. My hardware is build around analog device ad and da converter and pic16f877 micro. There are more documents in windows driver programming than linux.
but what system you are using, Linux, i think there are a lot of books from O'Reily, if you are working on windows, i remember there is a book from microsoft about WDM device driver.
For Linux, If you install 32-bit Linux, you can pick the smp kernel and it behaves the same as a two-cpu system. If you install 64-bit Linux, it supports multiprocessor automatically, i.e., no smp kernel required! For windows, windows XP PRO x64 Edition can identify 2 CPUs. The 32-bit version should be able to as well.
You can get driver source code examples direct from microsoft. kernel-Mode Driver Framework Version 1.1 Updated: May 11, 2006 KMDF implements the fundamental features required for kernel-mode drivers, including: ? Are you sure the PC is outputting the signals? You didn't say what software you are using, so I'm guessing that you wrote a program that runs under windows XP or 2k. Those operating systems prevent user programs from accessing I/O ports, unless you install a kernel mode device driver such as PortTalk. There's a link to it here:
A WinNT/2k/XP application cannot write directly to an I/O port unless you first install a kernel mode device driver that performs the I/O, or tweaks a windows access control bit somewhere that gives you access. I like PortTalk. It includes an easy-to-use program called allowio that you run from the command line. It auto-installs a driver, and th

I am trying to access pc ports in windows xp but it seems it is restricted by microsoft, I am using C language, can any one help me in this matter. Is there a way to access the ports in win xp in c language?
Hi , you can use USERPORT , UserPort.SYS is a kernel mode driver for windows NT/2000 that gives usermode programs access to I/O Ports. This makes it possible to access hardware directly from a normal executable in the same way as under windows 95/98/ME. This driver does not work on windows 95/98/ME and there is really (...)
Yes windows too. Drivers, kernel, all the critical stuff are written in C.
I think the cost of Sun WS is too high. have you ever run those cad tools below on Intel-based PC with Linux OS? Synopsys synthesis, Designware, Hspice,... Cadence NC-verilog could tell me your experience on this ?

The Lindows is based on the linux kernel (SUSE) and uses the Wine to run the windows application in the Linux environment. It cost $99 to download. You could download a Redhat 8.0 for free, why bother to pay Lindows $99 unless you really need windows-Office runing in the Linux.
